79th X-Plane.org fly-in (North Korea)

-return to picture archive-

This weekend our search for interesting fly-in locations took us to Pyongyang in North Korea. There was no GA Unlimited mission this time (chances are general aviation isn't that big in North Korea anyway) but we did have an A-10 attacking the airport on one occasion. The intruder was dispatched at the cost of one MiG-21 fighter, but in the future this sort of dogfighting would be best left either well outside the airport area, or at a time when there's less civilian air traffic around :/

Finally I flew an Air Koryo Tu-154 from Pyongyang to Beijing, where I was joined by MarsCraft who made the whole trip in a few minutes in a rocket-powered plane. Meanwhile I lost one of the three engines on takeoff, but somehow failed to notice anything wrong until I was well underway... to see how the rest of the flight(s) went, just click below :)
