| Now I should be back on course for Dushanbe | ||
| Viking passes below me | ||
| Turning north again (another wrong turn, by the way) | Not good, another engine shutdown, and this time at much lower altitude too! | |
| This is how low I got before the engines suddenly roared back to life | Another disaster narrowly averted | Now all I have to do is turn around and find the correct route to Dushanbe (all while hoping I don't waste too much fuel) |
| To make matters worse, I pretty much have to run the engines at full throttle all the time or they will be more likely to freeze up | ||
| From time to time the CHT gauge gets too high, and I have to cool off the cylinder heads using the cowl flaps... while trying not to freeze up other parts of the engine! O_o | ||
| Descending out of icing conditions again... | ...when the engines freeze up for the third time on this return flight! The sim really doesn't want me to make one successful landing at Dushanbe tonight! | Was already looking for an emergency landing spot... |
| ...when the engines started up again, allowing me to climb away from the ground and turn around (yes, I made yet another wrong turn) | Back enroute... | ...or so I thought! But it soon became apparent that this route was no better than the previous one! |
| But the VOR signal is coming from the west now... so it's time to stop flying VFR and follow the radio signal to Dushanbe already | Defying fate and climbing away from the mountains | |
| As you can see, the CHT gauge is near maximum, while the oil temp is almost below green at 50 degrees! | ||
