I started from Budapest Airport around 1430Z Another look at the European buildings in X-Plane 8.50 Starting the engine and getting ready to taxi
4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg
Heading for runway 31L, while at the same time Fanki is approaching 31R I have the GPS tuned for LHBP in case I need to return quickly - otherwise I'll be using radio navigation for the trip to Sibiu Turning onto the runway
7.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg
Ready for takeoff Airborne Flying quite low above Budapest...
10.jpg 11.jpg 12.jpg
...and making a 180 degree left turn A better view of the city below Fanki has already landed and is taxiing on the airport
13.jpg 14.jpg 15.jpg
Departing Budapest at 3000 feet Passing some suburbs further out Clouds appear way too close
16.jpg 17.jpg 18.jpg
Descending a bit to avoid ice (and maintain visual on the ground) Above a larger town, I don't think this is Budapest anymore
19.jpg 20.jpg 21.jpg
Judging from the atlas and the GPS reading this is probably the town of Monor (just southeast of Budapest) Climbing slightly higher once past the city
22.jpg 23.jpg 24.jpg
Now maintaining 2000 feet, following the 115 radial outbound from Budapest VOR Encountering quite a bit of turbulence Apparently there's quite a tailwind, gusting to almost 30 knots!
25.jpg 26.jpg 27.jpg
This must be the town of Albertirsa Low overcast close to Szolnok airfield Continuing past Szolnok on roughly the same heading
28.jpg 29.jpg 30.jpg
Now cruising above Alföld (the Great Hungarian Plain) The town of Mezötúr near the center of the plain Békés, close to the border of Romania
