Here are a few of the (aviation-related) shots I
took on
my trip
to Britain summer 2008. Turns out Britain is a perfect place for plane
spotting - with so many aircraft over such a small land area you're
bound to see something interesting every few days. The first gallery
covers the entire trip with two major exceptions - the Queen's Birthday
Flight at RAF Halton on June 14th, and the Farnborough Airshow on July
19th.

The Queen's Birthday Flight was something that we
just
basically
stumbled upon at random, having decided to stop for lunch at a lay-by
on the A41 just east of Aylesbury. We then noticed the aircraft
circling around nearby, and watched the rest of the show (from about 2
to 5 o'clock). The lay-by was located about 800 meters from RAF Halton,
so the pictures aren't quite the same quality as those from Farnborough.

Finally, a day before our departure
from
Britain, there
was the Farnborough Airshow, celebrating its 60th anniversary at the
airfield. Highlights included the Airbus A380, the Avro Vulcan bomber,
a mock dogfight with WW1-era fighters, and of course the world-famous
Red Arrows, to mention just one of the aerobatic teams displaying their
skills at Farnborough.
